Matthew (Matt) Poe joined his father in the practice of law in 2010 after receiving his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. He currently focuses his practice on plaintiffs’ personal injury cases and assisting his father in medical malpractice cases.
It’s a diverse practice and one that Matt finds personally appealing because of the variety it provides.
“It keeps me learning, and I enjoy that,” he says. “Every case has new challenges; every case has its own unique set of problems that I have to sort through and then take all the pieces of the puzzle and put them together in the best way possible for my client.”
But even more fulfilling, he says, is the sense that he is helping people who are often trying to get their lives back together after suffering injuries that were not their fault.
“I like the fact that I’m fighting for the little guy rather than helping insurance companies minimize costs,” he says.
Matt has always considered himself a problem solver and brings that attribute to his work.
“I enjoy the challenge of getting in there and learning how something works and then figuring out how to use that in my case,” he says.
Matt received a B.S. degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Auburn University in 2004 and remains a loyal fan of the Auburn Tigers football team. When he isn’t fighting for his clients, Matt also enjoys live music, barbecuing, and fly fishing.
